First Place Composers Today State Contest

Crystal Yan won first place in the Composer's Today State Contest 2011 sponsored by the Music Teachers' Association of California. The Composers Today State Contest is a state-wide contest for music composition in any style. The winning submission was a set of five pieces for flute and piano called Preludes.

She received a cash prize and travel scholarship to perform her pieces at a convention in San Francisco.
